Vanish Mode for Messenger & Instagram

Facebook just released an update for Facebook’s Messenger and Instagram, currently the feature is only available for Messenger in US and few other regions. You can expect to see it soon with Instagram, the new feature “Vanish mode” clearly means disappearing messages in literal sense, but it’s not that simple like “Vanish messages”. This article explains everything that you need to know.
In a post by Bridget Pujals, Messenger Product Manager and Manik Singh, Instagram Product Manager, clearly explains What the feature does.
“Sometimes a message is just spontaneous — something you want to say in the moment without worrying about it sticking around. That’s why we’re excited to introduce vanish mode on Messenger, which lets you send messages that disappear automatically. How it works is simple-messages disappear after they’re seen and you leave the chat.”
This sounds like a useful feature as you can be sure that your messages aren’t forwarded ahead or discussed behind your back. What you need to do is just leave the chat and boom! your messages are gone for good.

Turning it on seems more easier than understanding the whole concept of Vanish Messages, here’s how. To turn this feature on you need to be in a chat and just swipe up, send that funny picture of you, and after the other person has seen it, it’s gone for good. Swipe up again and you are back in the regular chat, and that’s it. You can also vanish any picture or message or GIF.

Furthermore the blog post also mentioned that you will get a notification if someone takes a screenshot of the chat, only if you are using the Vanish Mode. Currently the mode is under development for Instagram, but according to the blog post you can enjoy the feature on your messenger app after you update the app, after it is released for your region. What you can do is always keep the app updated so that you get to use the feature at the earliest possible.
